Default Air box mod (spoon-style)?

What are Spoon's modification to the stock airbox? Does it simply involved removing the one middle wall and the "L" on the cover? Anyone have a link - tried searching, couldn't find the thread indicating exactly what the changes were. Thanks.

It doesn't involve removing that "middle wall" unless you want to. Removing it really serves no purpose unless you are prepared to do a couple of other things. It only requires removal of the intake horn and either removing the slanted airguide in front of the rad (not recommended) or cutting a hole in it so the snorkel can go through it.
Here's a quickie install thread on it:

Are you putting in a snorkle or just want to gut the airbox of baffles and such?

Putting in snorkel. Wanted to know what extra mods I can do to the airbox to best increase airflow. However, I don't care for any extra sound to be made from my intake. I've also got a K&N filter on order. Thanks.

Great thread, thanks for the links Dave.

This subject may become popular again because there is a group buy going on now with Muz over a new snorkel.

So Dave, let me ask again a question you have already answered... somewhere.

Some people suggest that the vertical divider in the airbox be cut out and the bottom of the air filter raised slightly. I've been told this was part of the Spoon instructions that came with the carbon fiber snorkel.

I have ordered one of the new Muz snorkels. I plan to cut a nice hole in the airguide in front of the radiator but am still wondering about the middle baffle in the airbox. You mentioned if that is cut out there are other things that need to be done. Please elaborate of provide link. Thanks!

I don't recall anything in the instructions about modifying the interior of the airbox, like the baffles or filter, but then again, I don't understand Japanese

The pictures in the instructions however didn't not indicate such a procedure.

I don't have the snorkle but I took out the baffle and elbow inside and the car has better throttle response than with. Just slightly louder now.
