Default Air conditioner dripping

My wife and I took a long drive down the Blueridge Parkway yesterday. (For those of you who can get there, it's the best ride you can get for the S2K. Miles of twisties and hairpins you wouldn't believe!) Anyway, after a couple of hours with the top down the the A/C on, my wife noticed water dripping onto her foot. I had the same thing happen in my '91 Prelude because of a clogged drain tube. Anyone have this happen in a new '02 S2K?

From the looks of it, courtesy of the helm manual - The blower and evaporator is right above the passenger footwell. The evaporator probably acquired enough condensation on it during your long drive to start dripping a bit.

It's a common problem, take it in to the dealer to have it fixed.

I've had the problem more than once and the drain line was not the problem. In humid conditions with the air on and the top down the whole box sweats. I don't see what can be done short of a revised box from Honda.

check for the kinked hose, someone had the compressor explode, supposedly from the kinked hose and the water backed up? I don't remember exactly, but have the dealer take a look at it

I have the exact same problem. The hose was never kinked so I don't know what the dealer could even do. It happened to me a few times over the winter, but not this summer.

Since then I have removed the passenger side floor mats and it hasn't happened since. I think they may have been preventing water from evaporating.

cdelena, I agree. The only time I have interior dripping is top down, high humidity and A/C full blast. Don't do it often but always happens After about 15 mins. In this case I think it's condensation.

it seemed a little unlikely to me too, but someone on here posted that the tech that worked on the car and fixed it said that is what caused it to explode, I was a little skeptical myself...just restating what one guy had happen...it was probably from a month or so ago.
