Default AIR filter replacement time

Found a few topics but it's all old info.

What's the latest concensus on a good drop in stock replacement filter?

Read about issues with the K&N but it's still good.
Read that JR was the best.

Nobody mentioned what's the best place on the net to get these. Do our sponsors carry them?

What are the part numbers? K&N E-2345 still work?

Also, I was comparing filters to my friend's 05 and my 06 is definitely different. What's up with this?

One more: What's the word on AEM V2 for the 06's?

Thanks!

Get Comptech . But yeah, I don't know much about the V2 on MY06's but I can tell you that two of my friends have the K&N drop-in on their S2K's and they have no problems. One of them has a 2006 and it was fine.

AFE makes a drop in replacment filter. Comptech is a foam filter, use at your own risk.

AFE makes the best drop-in filter with K&N on its heels. Stay away from foam filters (I replaced the foam filter that came with my Comptech intake with a nice AFE one).

I've heard my share of negative things about foam filters, but I don't think they're that bad. My intake sounds great and I've had zero problems. I also wouldn't buy the comptech box and put the AFE in there, cause it's kind of a waste of money. I'd just use the stocker.

Ok, where do we get AFE filters? What does that stand for? This is the first I hear of that company.
