air pump question

Default air pump question

ok so about 2 years ago i pulled my air pump when i went turbo. never had a cel until recently (not sure why) but now i can't pass emmissions becuase of it... does anyone know if i just plug the air pump in and not run the lines will the cel and the readiness code go away? also doesn anyone know how long until the o2 and the cat are "ready" by ecu standards?

You need to put the pump back in the car, and run all lines. There's an ELD unit that will detect any pressure differences, by monitoring motor load.

O2 and cat monitors will ready quickly on the s2k. Usually in 5-10 miles.

I have same problem. I reset the CEL, drive around for 5-10 miles, and then go through emissions. That is all it took to set enough readiness monitors to pass. I believe the air pump CEL doesn't kick on until 2 cold starts, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I have drivin for over 60 miles and no cel for the air pump but I never get the cat or o2 sensors ready and even after I get the cel they never turn on.
