I think the SCS connector has a small amount of resistence
I thought that too. Someone else posted that it had 2ohms resistance, I repeated it in a post a long time ago. It is still somewhere in one of the faq sections (have since corrected it). When I checked the SCS jumper tool myself I measured 0ohms resistance.
I think the airbag deployment simulator tool has 2ohms resistance. I don't have one so I can't check.

I would not try to put resistance across the MES jumper, I don't know what would happen.
Sorry if I helped to perpetuate that info

Here is a snippet:
I believe someone else on the forum stated that it has 2ohms resistance. I havn't checked that personally, although I may later. Good Luck

EDIT: Honda OEM SRS tool 07PAZ-0010100 = 0ohms resistance.

The first time I reset an SRS light I used a paperclip. The tool was only $7.00 when I got one.

The MES connector has a yellow 2pin connector. From memory it has 2 green wires leading to it.
It is located in the cabin fusebox. It will be sitting in a "dead" socket that has no pins inside.

EDIT: Sorry, no pic. I knew where there was one in another thread, but it seems to be gone. (the pic, not the thread)
EDIT AGAIN: I wonder if your pricing the the Airbag deployment simulator? The part 07PAZ-0010100 (SCS service connector) only lists for $11.64 according to San Leandro Honda's website.

I have also done it using a copper wire. But since the manual clearly says NOT to do it that way, I'm not going to tell you it's OK to do it that way.
