Default Aircon Pipe Disconnected

Hey guys,

I have almost exactly:

"Puddle in Passenger Footwell

There is a pipe connected to the bottom of the aircon unit in the passenger footwell that takes the condensation out the car and drops it on the road. This can become disconnected (probably kicked off) , takes 15 seconds to replace and problem solved."

from the Technical FAQ.

The problem is, Honda originally repaired the pipe by using plastic welding about a year ago. The problem recurred recently, but not completely disconnected so it's not leaking quite as much.

Now they want to replace the ENTIRE evaporator box.

My question is, how can I fix this? Or what can I instruct Honda to do?

I don't want to pay $920 AUD (about $645 USD) for an entirely new evaporator box when it's just a pipe that's causing the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update ...

What's happened is the pipe has actually split from the evaporator box, so the part of the evaporator box that actually protrudes (and you connect the pipe to) has broken away.

I've taken a photo and will post soon.

I've bought some silicone adhesive in the hopes that I can glue this back on without leakage but I'd like to know if anyone else has seen/done this or if anyone has any good suggestions on how I might get it on.

Thanks!

if youre careful..use epoxy, it should hold. do it right tho..dont get epoxy all over the place..or jb weld or somethign.. glue prolly wont hold it.

also, if youre gonna try to glue/epoxy/jb it, make sure you scuff up the part you want to stick together..they dont like smooth surfaces.

had the same thing happen on my neon -_-. actually, the pipe sort of just plugged up to the ground..had to clean it out
