Default Alarm Re-programing

Hi all,

My S2k immobiliser key fob has stopped working. The fob has two buttons a red LED which lights up when pressing either of the buttons, and on the reverse is written 'MPT 1340, W T LICENCE EXEMPT'. i replaced the battery in the fob thinking it was that. By pressing either button the car will not recognise it, I can gain access using the manual key however this sets the alarm off, and the car will not start and I do not have a spare fob. i have tried using the method posted on here somewhere, at the start of the posted method, it says disarm the alarm, but i cant do this as the fob isnt recognized. if i disconnect the battery then turn the key to the on position, the indicator lights flash for about 30secs then the alarm goes off again

This was the one i tried to use....just realised after reading it again this is for adding a new key fob when you already have a working one. i only have 1 thats not responding. thanks for that link though...found out the answer to my stiff clutch

TECHNIQUE 2:
Disarm the system and immediately turn the ignition ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON and within 10 seconds, press the raised button of an existing handset 3 times. The system will respond by: Illuminating the vehicle indicators Illuminating the system LED The system is now in key learn mode Press the raised button of the new handset once and the system LED will extinguish. Press the raised button of the new handset once again and the vehicle indicators will extinguish. This signifies completion of handset learning. NB: If no handsets are programmed onto the system, it will revert back to normal mode after 15 seconds. If you want to add more handsets, simply repeat the above process. There are five memory places in the alarm system for handsets, therefore, there can only be a maximum of five handsets working on the system at any one time. If a sixth handset is added, it will simply overwrite an existing valid handset.

the method in that link is for a honda key fob, mine is a Hamilton palmer system. i believe they are installed when the car comes over here

Problem solved!

Ripped it all out haha

i called them and its not possible for to program only one keyfob in. you need a working won to waken up the learning process. will go for an aftermarket cat1, cheaper than the £190 they wanted to do it
