Default Alignment, in our out of the car?

When aligning do you sit in the car or add weight to the drivers side? Or do you just align it freestanding?

I did one alignment sitting in the car but could not tell the result was any different, and it certainly was difficult to schedule. Since then I've had it done without my dead weight in the car and it has worked just as well.

I decided to sit in the car for my last alignment, when I just had the rear done. My weight (155lb.) added -1/4 degree of negative camber to the left rear, and -1/8 camber to the right rear. I only sat in the car a brief time so the tech could get the "difference", and then apply it so the final result was -23/8 LR and RR with me in the car.

That difference is pretty small so I wouldn't worry about it...
