Default Am I missing something?

I did a search and I can't find my answer.

I don't think I'm missing anything but the rotor won't come off the hub.

I removed the calipers, and the bracket that holds the caliper. Then removed the two philips screws on the face of the rotor. But the rotor will not budge. It will spin but I can't take it off.

Any help ASAP will help.

Thx

According to the Thread Listed in = FAQ's-DIYs'-Maintenance Section: Under Suspension and Brake Stuff:

Located HERE

it should slide off.

it could be rusted on.

Be sure to look at the steps to see if you have missed something

rust, take a plastic, or brass faced hammer and hit it from behind or take 2 bolts that will fit into the other 2 holes on the rotor to take it out. wd40 or rust penetrant will help

if all else fails, use a mapp gas or butane torch on the rotor where its rusted while you are hitting it with a soft hammer

save yourself the trouble of trying to save the rotor.
hit it with a 5 lbs sledge and get new rotors.

Hit it with the hammer abit or if you could find the right size thread bolt for the two screws you took off, put the bolt on the empty hole now tight it in both bolt, as the bolt going in, it will hit against the wheel hub, and it started to separated the hub and rotor apart, you have to do two bolt to even it out. best way. Good luck.
