Default Another clunk/scrape sound post?!

Hey Guys,

This has only happened twice to me and it is ONLY when the car is COLD and has been sitting for a while. its a my05 with 6100 miles.

When i first begin to engage the clutch to reverse out of the garage, right at the engagement point it will make a scrap/clunk type sound. The car will move but i have always immediatly pushed the clutch back in. pump it once or twice and it will be fine.

The car drives and shifts normal. All other starts from a stop are normal.

any ideas?

Thanks

It's just moisture getting between your pads and rotors in the rear. When you apply the ebrake, this rusts the pads to the rotors, so when you next move the car, the rust breaks free. That's the clunk you hear. You either drove through water or you just washed the car or it's really humid where you live.
This is well known news and has been happening to every S2000 since the first day it was released.

Next time you wash your car, leave it in gear when parked and don't use the ebrake (assuming it's safe to do so) and you'll notice the crunch won't be nearly as dramatic.
