I wonder if they have a problem with the drivetrain...

Well, when I get my S2000, I'll be sure and preload the drivetrain before dumping. Maybe my first mod should be an ACT clutch.

josh,

What caused that big hole in the housing??? Looks like something came off and blew a hole in it.

i will give some explaination of the photos:

this shows what broke bigtime. having that part snap caused lots of other things.

such as the hole in the housing shown here:

loose parts flying around inside chewed up my ring gear
and

these two are views of the inside of the housing, the second one showing two of my gloved fingers in the hole.

at last, the new rear end should arrive tomorrow.

Let the clutch out just a bit so it catches and brings up all the slack in the drivetrain before you launch. That way all the parts are lined up with no air inbetween them.

Is this what Im waiting for to happen ? hmmm maybe Ill get the 4.3:1 gear set and then see about getting stronger caps.

If you want to see the differential and what it goes through on a stock S2000 its in the video thread. and like I said there, it was kind of a 'feathered' 5000rpm drop. I didnt dare go higher because of the noises Im hearing, then again If its gonna break I hope it does soon, so I can get it over with.
