another oil change question...
Hi All,
I'm being a little lazy about searching the answer for this question.
I'm nearing 6000 miles, drive mostly city traffic in the California Bay Area.
Am I do for an oil change or should I wait until 7500.
To date, I've added 1qt of oil and typically keep the car at 5-6K RPMs at all times, shifting at various RPMs above that
Thanks

opinions differ.
i changed my oil the first time at 1,000 miles. the rumored "dyno oil" is still inconclusive to me and i felt better about being conservative.
i changed the oil again at 3,500 and will continue to change the oil every 3,500 miles.
imo, it's a cheap maintenance step that can potentially add a lot of life to the car.
BTW, I drive aggressively but not like a maniac. Given the high perfromance nature of the car, I'm more apt to being conservative when it comes to maintaining it.

Thanks for the advice. I just recall most of the posts on this subject about changing the first time later is better and OK because of the break-in oil and the newness of the car. I'll probably do my first change at 6K but just seeing if anyone here went 7500 for any good reason.
