Default Another Rear End Noise Question

Okay, So before I get flamed, yes I searched and couldn't find anything definitive. So, initially I had some wobble and a squeak/squeal coming from the Drivers side rear wheel. I figured it was the axle nut (as that seems to be the culprit the majority of times), torqued the nut in accordance with the TSB; the wobble and noise went away for about a week. Now, the noise is back. It's a load squeak/squeal same as before, but loud enough to be heard over my exhaust. I'm thinking wheel bearing, but wanted to get a few opinions before I order one.

If it changed for a bit after torquing the axle nut, then came back, I'd put money on it being a bearing/hub.

BTW, if you did it IAW the TSB, it's not enough torque. Look for the DIY axle nut fix. But it may be too late, considering you already moved the nut. The DIY has to be done on an untouched axle nut.

Yeah, I meant the DIY. Do you know if there is a difference in the hubs between any of the model years? I'm pretty sure there isn't, and while I'm back there I may as well just replace the whole hub.

They all share the same hubs. It's always best to replace the hub with the bearing also.

So, I finally got the job done. Pretty straight forward. I used a pitman arm puller on the ball joints; definitely would have been easier with the Honda tool. Found a local guy to press out the old wheel bearing/hub and press the new ones in for $30. The hub and wheel bearing were both trashed!!

All in all, with the hub, wheel bearing, and cost for the pressing, I ended only spending $130 or so.

Car feels great. I didn't realize how 'squirmy' the rear end felt, until I fixed what was broken!! Now, it drives MUCH better!
