Default Rear Axle clicks

I had the squeaking noise on my left rear that is common on the S2000. I removed the axle nuts, greased and torqued both sides to increase nut position about 60 degrees per the DIY. I still have a clicking noise in the left rear, but my squeak is gone. I can't torque it up any more. Does that mean my hub is damaged?

Thanks,

Jim

Another member on here mentioned that it could be due to a sticking caliper...

Thanks for the reply. This is not brakes. It seems that the hub is walking a bit. When I get very slow I can hear it creaking. Maybe I waited too long to fix my axle nut torque issue. I don't know what to look for now. I guess I could remove the hub and see if I see damage.

The clicking is torque related. (only when I am in gear decel or accel do I get the clicks.)

Thanks,

Jim

Is your click a constant clicking or only a one time "click/cracking" noise ?

Not constant. When I start moving from a stop it clicks. Sometimes 2 clicks. When I come to nearly a stop I can hear it creaking like the hub is not seated.

Thanks,

Jim
