Another Rear Piston Question....
I've come a little stuck, and i think the piston has siezed
The drivers side was easy, didn't even use a proper tool at first and did that with out too much force...
Tried the same again with the passenger side and i cant get the bugger to move, even with the proper tool that slots into the piston.
I am turning it clockwise if i look at the piston. I did try tweaking it anticlockwise too, just incase.
Strangely though i put two of the old pads back in and a small spanner in between them, then lightly pushed brake pedal to see if the piston moved, it did, the spanner was clamped a little.
Thinking this may have loosened it more i tried to wind it back in with the tool and still couldn't get it to move
Handbrake is off, fluid cap too. Have i got a dead caliper?
any other suggestions?
Clockwise should work. It's possible that you're putting uneven pressure on the piston when pushing it in. That might cause it to bind. Try tapping the piston along the perimeter and trying again. If you still can't get it to budge, you might want to open up the bleeder valve and try again. Afterwards, you're going to have to bleed the caliper if you open the valve.
