Default Question concerning a rear caliper piston matter

I was changing my brake pads and rotor and found out that the driver side brake pad was almost to the metal that is facing the control arm and the other side is about 15% left but the top was almost to metal compare to the bottom side. Could it be my brake line gone bad or my piston need to replace? Try compressing it back in but doesn't goes all the way in but when I step on the brake pedal its seem to be pressing out fine. All the other are fine with no issue just the driver side rear. Any help would be appreciated since this is my first problem dealing with the piston.

I haven't replace the fluid since I bought the car in 04..Only drive the car in the summer time and put away for winter. I'm thinking of putting all new fluid in once this problem is being fix first.

do a caliper rebuild its simple and saves money for both rears including new pistons i think i spent 60-80 bucks. when you put the new piston in and the new dust seal use an air compressor after puting the dust seal on the caliper side then slightly push the new piston againts the seal...this will cause pressure to build and boom the seal will pop over the sides of the piston...any other way and its a mission. this all probably sounds confusing but when you get into it youll know what i mean.

Retract the rear piston by screwing it in

you need to get a tool that fits in there well. 1/4 inch drive works. Maybe a bit of penetrating oil. I believe its CW direction. At first it will be super stiff if you havent touched it in awhile...

Sounds like your slider pins may be sticking as well. You should regease them while it is apart.

I would say moisture was absorbed through the fluid, and rusted the parts internally. Make sure you change that fluid.
