Was super scared car started sounding funny. i pulled in to home (wasnt far) and found my j's racing oil cap was gone and oil was all over the engine cover. luckily i still had the stock one. i looked this morning and i found the j's lodged in the backside. i tried to get it out but its stuck. i will try the hanger method when i get home from work today. i hear a small metal tick noise which scares me quite a bit. im hoping its the cap bouncing around.

im just wondering why does this happen? im sure the last time i checked it the cap was on tight. i also thought that since its a j's cap it would be even better then stock?

any other mods? maybe a catch can or turbo or anything? there IS pressure in the crank case, and if the aluminum is not hard enough, the threads do not have enough strength to stay on. that's why it pops off. yes, everything aftermarket is better than stock. lol

yeah, see the oem one is plastic which helps the threads grip, and it has a gasket too, both in combinaton help it 'lock on' if you will.

nope no catch can or turbo. pretty much stock.

wondering now if its actually better, either that or will have to moniter to make sure its tight all the time.

just have to make sure oem is really tight and that the gasket is still in there. the cap itself is fine. this happened to me twice. the last time, i couldn't reach the cap myself. the only way i could get it was during my valve adjustment because the valve cover was off.

Clearly! I use the OEM cap, I have never had a problem.
