Default anti siphon door or something?

Long story short i need to siphon the gas out of the s2k. are there any wacky "anti siphon" traps doors or something that would prevent me from doing this?

I know when I tip the S2000 gas tank over and it is full of fuel it won't spill out of the main pipe, though that doesn't necessarily mean that you can't siphon it out as it may have a one way flap which may still work with a siphon. Just an observation from when I tried to empty a tank that was out of the vehicle.

Disconnect the fuel line at the rail and let the pump do the rest of the work. I've done that before on other cars that have sat for a long time.

thats a great idea actually. didnt even think of that. i dont think it will hurt for it to go through the pump. i dont think theres rust and scale or anything, just old broken-down gas.

It's surprising how little dirt and rust will be in these tanks. I couldn't find a spec of rust or even dirt in a 12 year old tank, it was shiny new inside the tank.

Yeah, if its an 00-05 disconnect the return line from the bottom of the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail and stick a hose on the FPR port with the other end in a bucket on the floor. Then just turn the car on and start the engine. The engine will idle and the return line will empty gas into the bucket. When the engine starts stuttering then you're almost there. You can turn the engine off and then just flip the key from off to on a few times to keep priming the pump and pushing the last bit out of the return line. You don't have to get every last bit out, a full tank on top of a gallon of crap gas will still run just fine.

When you turn the key ON, the pump only primes for 2 seconds or so. If you have a tank-full, it's going to take a couple hundred cycles to pump all that out.

You can always rig it to have the pump run continuously, assuming you're willing to mess w/wiring.

im not. im going to just let her idle with the return going into a bucket. I think thats the best idea so far.
