I just went to my garage and started my car and it turned over and started, at about 2 seconds in the car just stopped running and the spedo and all the electronics in there turned off. My radio still works and so do my headlights. Just nothing will in the dash area will turn on like normal? any thoughts? thanks for the help!

 

Or does anyone know how to disable a car alarm? i think mine is going a bit crazy and that's the problem...?

 

Do you have an aftermarket alarm? Does the immob light stay flashing? Are you saying the car was running for 2 secs then all dash gauge lights went out and the car died?

 

^yes pretty much. it isn't an aftermarket alarm. There's a green key light that usually lights up when i unlock/lock my car. That isn't going off anymore? I found a way to disable an accord alarm...i'm going to see if that works....or if anyone knows how to reset the alarm/disable the alarm that would be awesome. thanks!

 

And would my alarm be located under the driver seat? I have a 2000. Thanks!

 

You may have a problem with your key (the immobilizer chip).
I have heard they can reprogram them. Search the forum for key problem.

 

Thanks Ronnuke. i was reading something about that last night...i didn't know i can get them reprogrammed...thanks for the info i'll see what i can find...

My fob works to lock and unlock the doors. the car beeps and flashes. It can open the trunk and do everything else...except turn on the car...it seems as if the car doesn't recognize the key...?
