Anybody else ever get warbling sound from rear during decel?
I'm running stock pads and stock rear end. Only thing ever done to it was that TSB to fix the clicking sound upon takeoff.
Twice now during the past week I've noticed a sound coming from what seems to be the car's rear end. It's a warbling/grinding sort of noise that's in time with the wheels rolling. I've only noticed it while going slowly through the parking lot. Haven't done enough investigation to tell under what all conditions this happens. The two times it's happened, I think it was only while the car was coasting down. I don't remember that applying the brake had any effect.
It's been too dark/cold by the time I get home from work to jack the car up and take a look underneath, but I was wondering if anybody else had a similar situation, or any suggestions about specific areas to look at.

Stock exhaust currently, but it used to be a J's Racing. I'll check that, thanks. (Although I have a feeling that's not it - the sound is in time with the wheels turning...)

Funny you should mention it. I noticed this type of noise from my right rear at the last NTS2K autocross. It seemed to be temperature / humidity sensitive, but slowly got worse and worse. Now I'm getting a whole range of different noises, all occur only during decelleration, and braking has no effect. Last night I jacked the car up, and checked for play in the wheel. If I push on the top, and pull on the bottom, it moves about 1/8" and makes a clunk (as if the lug nuts were really loose). It is obviously a defective wheel bearing.

Another couple notes:
I noticed that my right rear wheel was much hotter than all the others. If I touched the wheels near the lug nuts after driving ~20 miles on the highway, it was just warm on 3 wheels, but very hot on the bad one.
The noise started weeks before there was any play in the bearings. When I checked for play 4 days ago, there was no visible play. It has increased exponentially since.

I had some noise in the left rear although it was not really warbling.. turns out that the center peg in the brake pad had come loose.
I did once have overheating on one rear wheel that turned out to be a brake issue.

I get some type of warbling/rubbing sound as well. From the passenger side rear and only during somewhat hard right hand turns. I do have a set of eibachs so Im hoping its just worn shocks.
