Default Anybody know how to turn down wick on steering?

Hey all, I was wondering if anybody here can show me how to lower the boost on the steering, and if this will help with adding more feel. Just a question..no flames pls.

Sorry, There is no real "adjustment" to power steering assist. I always thought it felt pretty good-

Above a certain speed, the steering is not electrically asisted and is esentially manual.

There is a black box that controls the power steering. It uses a speed input to control the amount of assistance.

I dont have the wiring diagram near me, but from memory the speed sensor on the gearbox goes to the ECU and the instrument panel. The instrument panel divides these pulses by 2 and outputs a slower speed signal to other devices such as the steering, hood, radio, headlamps and a few other devices.

You could change the speed input to the steering electrics so it comes from the faster signal before the instrument panel rather than after. This way the steering will think the car is travelling twice as fast and provide less assistance.

Just some thoughts for someone willing to experiment.

Can someone with an wiring diagram to check my suggestion?

BTW, moving the ECU to after the instrument panel is one way to double the speed limiter in some markets.

Speedracer.

My EPS quit working for a bit while I was getting my Yellow Box setup. I was surprised that the car was very manageable without it. Maybe you should just try pulling the EPS fuse.
