I know someone who ran the DC headers on a stock S2000 engine on an engine dyno. He found about 1 hp across the entire range. There are better gains to be had for bigger bucks. With that said, there is nothing wrong with the factory header.

its funny people will complain about an CAI which cost $300 that makes 3-5hp respectivly. but they will spend $400-500 on a header which if there lucky gives 1hp......

I spent $200 on my SS header that make me over 5 hp and looks a hella lot better than the stock one.

DC sports and their vendors also pay heavily to ADVERTISE in that mag.... that's called bias, and calls into question any results the mag publishes. Look at dynos from independent sources i.e. owners.... the header looses power.

Since it gains a little on one test and losses a little on another, why don't we just call it even as far as power gains is concerned.

It could be used as eye candy.

Or look in to the weight advantage of shaving a few pounds with the aftermarket header.

How much weight savings is there between the stock and the DC Stainless and the DC Ceramic?

I agree Glen,
I think that when a person sees a dyno they need to take the WHOLE story into account i.e. what type of dyno, what else has been done to the car, is operator reliable i.e. are his results pretty consistant with other s2000 dynos.
Owners should read post critically and ask the tough questions before going out half-cocked and buying something.

there is more to headers than just HP gains. people here are too concerned with peak horsepower gains. you also need to take into account improvement across the entire band, torque gains across the band, improved throttle response and a host of other benifits.

there is more to parts than just HP gains. but that is my .02
