Default anyone running with gutted cats?

anybody out there running with a gutted cat converter?

notice any gains?

I don't think you will notice gains unless you are running tons of boost. You will probably notice a lot of backfires though.

I got a second cat that I gutted and will be trying it soon, hopefully i wont get a CEL

I ran with a gutted cat for a while, but the damned thing bled all over my leather console, so I threw it away. Never really helped my power gains, anyway, so no big loss.

To the guys who gutted their cat what worked best? Drill? Torch? crowbar/hammer? All the above?
A long drill bit. Maybe 16" or longer. Buy a couple of them becuase the metal cat material eats them up. Its a pain I gutted a spare cat I had by drilling holes then using a big chisel and a hammer. It gets messy and dirty. Wear a dust mask over your noise and mouth. It really helps to have the cat secured in a big vise.

long drills might work but it will take too damn long. I suggest doing like i did, cut it in half, then gut it out and then weld it back together.
My cat you couldnt tell it was cut since the weld was very nicely done.

hey when i gutted my cat all i did was beat the crap out of it with a hammer and pry bar but it did take about 2 hours

i did my cat and took for ever. i had a chizzel and hammer and did it that way. it made the exhaust a lot louder and did feel a little differnece but my car is supercharged. if anybody wants to trade my hollowed out cat for your stock i am game because i have a test pipe now. if anybody wants pics i will post them up of the cat.
