At AJ's...

"Changes the stock final gear gear ratio from 4.1 to 4.46 (AP1) 4.1 to 4.3 (AP2). For AP1 transmission, this is require the use with AP2 final secondary gear shaft."

Looks kinda odd to me, anyone with more info?

It's a secondary reduction gear.

The trans would have to be partially disassembled to install it.

Hmm looks like a pain in the ass to install this piece. I wonder if this would me more reliable than a 4.44 rear end.

It wouldn't be any worse than a rear gear setup.

That would be in your rear housing on the tranny, I believe.

If so, thanks to one being cracked recently, then it should be a rather simple change.

It's in the transmission. S2000's don't have a transfer case.

Since seeing this item I have decided not to get 4.56 rear gears and install this instead. So I would if I were you.
