Default AP1,AP2 engine block question

My engine needs to be reblaced (main bearing faliure), so i decided to buy the whole engine block assembly.

Since the older ap1 blocks are no longer avalible part.number: 10002-pcx-316 and the newer ap2 F20C2 block (drive-by-wire) IS avalible part.number: 10002 PCX E10, i want to know if the ap2 block assembly (F20) from 2006 on... will fit my 2000 year ap1?.....

I am concerned cause the ap2 has the drive by wire and ap1 has a throttle cable.

Thank you for you answers!

You will need to pull the timing cover on the new 2.2L DBW engine and change the trigger wheel, thats it. After that it will bolt right up and run. You will also need to be aware of rev limit.

OR

Do a Kpro conversion. It uses the trigger wheel that is currently in the new 2.2. I THINK this will also allow you to set rev limit.

it wont be a problem cause in europe this block 10002 PCX E10 is used in ap2 with a F20c engine which revs to 9000

Thank you very much for your answer billman!

I'm curious to see if you can actually procure it. In the USA, during the last year, short blocks have been on backorder for between 2-10 months before delivery.
