I have an 01 with almost 23K on it. N/A, bone stock. Is there anything I can do to test if the clutch needs to be replaced. I keep having this nagging feeling that the clutch is slipping. I'm not really talking about hard launches or off the line...but more so in the power band and in 2nd and 3d gear. I know the AP1s and most stock Hondas have little torgue-it just seems like my RPMs don't match the car's acceleration or speed. I've heard from some people that I've met the life span of my clutch based on other AP1s. There are no problems at all-I'm just wondering if I am loosing power by way of the clutch.

 

put it in 6th gear at 30mph and floor it. If your clutch slips you will definitely notice it. hopefully that helps!

 

I heard that from someone (doing a test in high gear). What can I expect-high revs and not moving?

 

your rpms should increase dramatically but the car barely goes anywhere.

 

and plenty of nasty stench, and possibly some smoke.
