Hi guys, after purchasing my new s2k about 4 weeks ago, I've swapped the noisy custom exhaust which came with the car for a standard OEM one (coupled with a test-pipe )

I've got an AP2 cat-back for a bargain on ebay, I've fitted it however the oval tips don't sit amazingly with the AP1 bumper - I've had a search on here and have seen people swap bumpers for a face-lift although don't fancy spending 200+ when it isn't needed.

Is it possible to fit AP1 tips to AP2 mufflers, or just some aftermarket round tips?

 

Funny...just did this yesterday.

Yes you can use ap1 tips, but they are not exact fit. I wound up putting a small tack weld on each tip. The tips dont pass over the mounting tab...which is ok since they needf to stick out farther anyway.

 

I'm looking to have an AP2 exhaust tip..we can swap if you want I have an AP1?

 

I just run no tips (CR exhaust on AP1). Saves a lot of weight

Yeah I'm at no tips at the moment. Have just removed to sell them on ebay - very kind VinnyGPW but I think postage would probably break the 3-figure mark so probably isn't worth it.

I'm planning on getting a pair of after market jap style 4" tips off ebay I think (the look without the noisy drone ), and either bolt or have them spot welded on - AP1 tips do seem tiny!

 

I think he meant just trade tips, not whole exhaust.
