ap1 s2000 valves an retainers

Default ap1 s2000 valves an retainers

hey guys i have a high millage f20 an im thinking of doing my retainers an i read a while back that going with ap2 retainers is a good. my question is it a direct fit on my head ? an do i do bolth sides or is just preferred on one side more than the other?

No reason to change the retainers based on mileage- its not a wear item. Just do a valve adjustment and check the retainers. But, if you will want to replace them, only the INTAKE are done if you're doing it prophylactically.

And its retainers and keepers- 8 retainers/16 keepers for the AP2.

okay cool thank you so the exhaust don't need to be upgraded to the ap2. or could i do it for the peace of mind since id already be there

No, the exhaust side does not need to be upgraded.

If you engine has never been over revved you do not need to replace the retainers, as Darcy said they are not a wear item, they only go bad if you over rev the engine which causes them to crack. I would inspect them first.
