AP1 Throttle Cable replacement
It was the equivalent of about $100. From what the lady told me I got the last one in stock. Like, in the country. I asked if they will make more and she says she didn't know.
I plan to take a trip to the Spoon headquarters in Tokyo for a tour. I know they build engines so I think if anyone would know where to source them they would.

There are a lot of companys around wich carrys all cables and fittings you can imagine for rebuilding throttle, brake and choke cables. Shouldn´t be a big problem to rebuild a broken throttle cable. Only time consuming.
The part number (above) comes back to the right cable for DBW -- and discontinued.
Curious if there are different cables for LHD and RHD especially for the DBW cars. Cables are easy make (in theory), I just replaced one on one of my lawn mowers but it wasn't cheap either.

Regarding making cables....I have found various solutions, but the best one is via Pegasus by utilizing a majority of their parts.
The only thing that I have trouble with is the cable ends as they're non-standard. You'd probably need to solder ends on. I've done a ton of research on making cables and have lots of info. I'll probably end up cloning the DBW cable I got because it looks a little rough. When I finish I'll post updates in this thread.
I melted my throttle cable shorting out the alternator power cable to it with a 12mm gear wrench. Careful kids, electricity can kill you. I bought 1/16 cable from Amazon. Eowpower 1/16 inch Stainless...
I was surprized to find the cable was free of exposed, sharp wire ends throughout its length so no risk of the new inner cable degrading the outer cable and getting stuck. Obviously, having the outer cable makes my fix much simpler than someone who needs both. I drilled out the wire from the dowel on the throttle body end and the saucer on the pedal end. The SS inner cable is harder than the aluminum dowel and saucer so highly recomend a drill press with a carbide jobber drill or endmill for this job because a hss drill will walk. Because of the throttle body design, the inner cable can't protrude thru the dowel end so it's critical to do this end first on the bench and get a good crimp. I also put a drop of soder on it. I fed the inner cable thru the outer cable, set the tensioner to min length, cut the inner cable to length + 6" in the pedal box, replaced the rubber bushing, and used a crimp sleeve on the pedal end with a drop of soder.
Not wanting to test the strength of my amazon cable I made an adjustable throttle pedal stop by nut and bolt thru the OEM plastic pedal stop. Previously, I adjusted most of the slack out of the throttle cable to improve feel and found the rubber bushing was being substantially compressed at max pedal travel. Now utilizing the stop I can fine tune how much I compress the rubber bushing. Ideally very little.

Just posting here for posterity since I recently ran into this issue and FYI: RSX Type S throttle cables are confirmed to fit. The cable is about a foot longer so you'd have to loop it in the engine bay but it works fine.
