Thumbs up AP1 w/ AP2 transmission

I was told that I might need a new transmission soon. I think I'm still under warranty, but I was wondering if I can put an AP2 tranny in my AP1. I think that the gearing from the AP2 tranny would be an advantage with my 9k redline and 4.77's, but I want to do this with as little extra work as possible if it's not under warranty. I wonder, if it is under warranty, if my buddies at Honda would hook it up? Someone let me know how hard this is, what I would need, if it's possible, or even if it is worth it.
Thanks

yes, you can. But if Honda is paying the bill, OEM transmission will be your only option I bet.

There is a ton written on this. (I know, I wrote alot of it.) So next time you have a questin, try searching for the anwser. There is a thread on the first of second page on threads with the anwser in it.

All you need to do is have the output flanges swapped from the old tranny to the new AP2 tranny. This is an easy swap. Been there, done that.

Ya, the first 4 ratios are closer and 5 and 6 are taller. I have 4.57 gears and when I finally do this swap it will be like 4.77 gears in the first four then 4.44 gears in the back two

I did the search, but couldn't find the right info I wanted. So with my 4.77's is the gear ratio going to be too high in the first 4 gears or what?

The 4.77 gear is 16% lower than stock. That would make the 4.77 gears + and AP2 transmission: 1-4 = 20% or a 4.92, 5 = 17% or 4.79 and 6th = 14% or 4.67
