Wonder what could have caused that. Temporarily starved TCT of oil?

I'm not quite sure. I picked the car up today from the shop. I was told that someone had previously messed with something in the head. I bought the car with a bad TCT and replaced it (two months ago). Something else has to be going on for a new TCT to go out that quickly. I don't know the history of the motor so I'm stuck with either ripping it apart to find the problem or just parting ways with the car. I can tell now that the previous owner didn't take care of it very well.

Seems whoever changed the tensioner messed up. I'd check the compression and do a leak-down test to be sure no damage was done to the valves.
