Default ap2 center console on ap1

i just installed an ap2 console in my ap1, my only concern is that i have a glass window soft top with the defroster button placed in the center console. i just purchased the dash mounted defroster button and i was wondering if there is a second plug by where the blank plate behind the steering wheel is or do i have to cut and add some wiring to extend the plug to the dash. some knowledge would be great.

btw if anyone wants the ap1 console mounted buttons im selling it since i dont plan on ever going back to my ap1 console.

Good luck on your quest and keep us updated. I upgraded my center console also at one point and had my hard top defroster button there, but have been too, maybe lazy is too strong of a word, apathetic to put it somewhere else, and the button current sits in that well under the console itself.

so here is the update, my00 ap1 dont have a defroster or the "b" harness so for you to be able to use the dash mounted defroster as opposed to the console mounted one you will have to get said button and then solder the prongs to some wires and then run those back to the console if you have an ap1 with a glass rear window and then from there figure out what goes where and solder away....

thats my conclusion as of now
