Default AP2 Shift Beeper?

Hello,

I remember riding with someone in their AP2 at SCCA last year who had installed a shift beeper. Now that I am planning on taking my new AP2 there, I was thinking of doing the same. I saw that Modifry makes one, but I saw that it only started to beep at 8,300 RPM, well above where my friend's beeper started beeping. Any suggestions?

Damnit, I just looked at the instructions and saw that it can be adjusted.

I've had one on my '04 S for years. IMHO it's a great mod.

Yeah it is definitely on my list of things to do before event 1 next season. Looks like a good investment.

Beeper is cool, but if your exhaust is loud, and you have a helmet on, and you're old and a little hard of hearing, you won't hear it. Shift lights are cool as well.

I can hear mine just fine at 120 mph shifting from 4th to 5th with windows down and a helmet on at the track. BUT, I'm not old Then again, I find this mod most useful for the top of 2nd and 3rd gear where the rev limiter sneaks up on you at WOT. At the top of 4th and 5th the revs are climbing much slower and its easier to catch.

Great mod and I hear it at 100+ top down on track.

I have one of the original units from Edify and I did change the speaker to make it a lot louder so that it was obvious it a noisy environment with a helmet on. I found it invaluable on the track where looking down at the tach was not desirable in most situations. On some tracks I actually drove based on the limiter knowing where it should start warning in third and fourth.

This has been one of those terrific mods for this car.
