Default ap2 timing.

hi im new here and i have a question. i recently purchased a 05 s2k. the car was in a wreck. so after changing all the necessary body parts i started with the engine. the timing is off. what i'd like to know is, what grove on the crank pulley is the crank pulley cover arrow supposed to line up with. i have a 00-03 manual but that manual only shows two lines. my crank pulley however has 4 lines. looks like this. I I I I . which one goes with the arrow? thanks in advance.

I haven't checked the S2000, but in past Honda/Acura cars I've worked on I used the white tick line for TDC. You'll have to pop off the valve cover to make sure the cams also line up.

The white line is TDC..

If the timing was off the car wouldn't start with a OEM PCM.

Are you sure you are checking the timing correctly? Checking timing on a coil on plug motor isn't easy. What are you getting versus what you expect to see?

Looks like the cam chain sprocket is turned to far clockwise.

Take the serpentine belt off. It's so much easier to work with the crank then.

Take out the spark plugs. -//-.

Tehre are 2 marks: white and red next to each other. red is 5 degrees off. White is the TDC for Cyl 1. (or BDC, but you obviously don't want that.).

If this seems too confusing, you really should get an experienced guy to look at it for ya. But remember, White is the TDC. Red is 5 degrees before TDC, for ignition timing setting purposes.
