Default AP2 Valve Retainer Upgrade gone wrong

well got up early to get rocking on the AP2 valve retainer upgrade prior to the supercharger just for piece of mind, once I poped the cover all seemed to be 100% ok but I figured I have the parts why not?

got all the bolts loose in proper sequence

keeping it all clean and organised

then when I went to remove the 4th valve retainer

CLINK CLINK CLINK

X OVER 9,000!!!!!

I had air going in at about 30 psi but I guess it just want enough and for whatever reason it just dropped in

head removal time

I will get a new gasket should I just re-use the OEM head bolts? it just sucks because the job done by the factory is never really equaled at home

thats pretty much it thanks for listening to me vent s2ki and up the PSI if you are doing the valve retainer swap

If the valve was able to drop all the way in that suggests you didn't have that cylinder at TDC which is why the cylinder didn't pressurize. Good luck with the tear down that's a bummer.

Yeah I may have done the wrong one

Im going to pop off the intake manifold, grab it with the little finger grabber then through the massive f20c intake port (THANK GOD) use my fingers to pop it back into place

advice to anyone doing it

1 - 2 - 3 - 4

do 1 and 3 from removal of old to install of new

then rotate the crank 2 and 4 removal and install

may take a bit longer but my trying to save time you will regret it like I do now

Having the piston at TDC doesnt matter. Pressure is pressure. Many times the pressure will just push thew piston down anyway.
