Default Awful noise, help!

Hi Everyone!

I got a '00 ap1 and something makes a hell of a noise, my guess is that it's the tranny. The pilot bearing, the throwout bearing and a brand new clutch set had been replaced recently, but the noise hasn't stopped. Any guesses what it could be? Thanks!

Sad to say MY car has this exact noise. It is a vibration coming from somewhere. It only does it once in a while for a second or two.

It acts a lot like the typical clutch buzz the early ones had except worse, at least as far as I can tell from the video. That was caused by the springs being weak wasn't it? Could it be your clutch is just kinda old and the springs have lost some of their hold? From what I have heard the clutch buzz problem doesn't hurt anything its just annoying, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

My '01 ap1 has had this noise since I bought it almost 2 years ago. I've done a bit of online digging to try and get an idea of what causes it, and it seems like there is a main shaft in the tranny that vibrates.

Others have said they had their clutches replaced only to have the sound return shortly after.

I'd classify this as the 'clutch buzz' term, but it seems that my noises aren't nearly as apparent when the top is down. When my top is up, it sounds identical to your video. As far as I know, my car has all oem parts with 89k miles.

Could it be from the fingers on the pressure plate? It almost sounds like the screws are loose on the flywheel or something. I'm assuming Honda loc-tites them from the factory.

I have a 01 s2k (107k miles) and I get the same noise around certain rpm as well. When I put it out of gear it goes away... Im still riding on OEM stock from the factory clutch. Im about to changed it . But that noise is killing me .

My friend gets this as well, I get this sometimes too. Apparently its the backlash in the tranny. All I know is that it seems to appear more often as the mtf 2 gets worn down (somewhere around the 10k mark)

I also very rarely get a grinding/metallic/almost zinging noise where it gets higher pitch as the rpms wind down, that goes away when I clutch in. anyone else?

Since the noise changes noticeably from acceleration to deceleration, it seems like the differential to me. Does it sound like it could be coming from that far back?

I listened to your vid again...it does sound like clutch buzz.

My car has a noise that is not clutch buzz, but is close to that. I know it is not from the clutch or trans.
