Now I have a second problem with my car. I have a bad vibration. Since the search is down I actually looked page by page through old treads to find a post about it. There is a thread on the "SHAKES." Most people on this thread claim the shakes on acceleration. My car shakes at a steady speed from 75-80. It is an oscillation that starts light, gets stronger, then weakens. It will do this constantly between 75 and 80. Has anyone experienced this? Is is the axles?
If it is the axles does anyone have a source? I found a site that makes a 350 hp axel with billet inner cvs for $1000 a pair. Does anyone have a better source? Maybe we could organize a group buy if others are in need of new axles. Thanks again for any help.

Uh-oh -- that's the exact symptom I had...just before my diff blew.
And yes, it's quite distinct from the CV joint problem (which I've also had).
Hope you have better luck. If alignment, tire balance, etc. all seems to be OK, try draining the diff and seeing if there's an unusual amount of crud/particles in the fluid and/or on the magnetic drain bolt. If so, well, not sure what to tell you -- it's probably a ticking time bomb.

check your wheel alignment as well
my axle broke after I had some of this problem as well. So yes, it could be the axles/CV's. Is there any noise from the axles?
Another cost effective upgrade is a nissan diff conversion if you are keen to drive this car aggressively.

Thanks for all the input. I sent the wheels off and had them checked for trueness. They also painted them black and polished the lips. They look much better in black on my Spa. I then had new tires put on the rear. 90% of the vibration is gone. It is now tolerable above 75mph. I think the remaining vibration is the axles. I checked the play on the inner CV and it does have some play. They was also a creaking noise, but I retorqued the alxe nuts and it is gone.
