Default Axle Threads Damaged

OK, so I managed to jack up the threads on both axles during my 2nd hub & bearing replacement (siezed axle nuts). Any idea what my options are...hopefully short of having to throw cash at the problem...i.e. the whole axle assembly?

Feedback is appreciated.

Find a tap & die set that has the right size and clean up the threads. Another option is to get a very small file set and carefully repair the threads enough to allow a new nut to go on smoothly.

If you just messed up the beginning threads then you can grind them down enough to get the nut past them. Just enough to start on good threads, tighten, and torque.

Good luck, go slow, and be patient.
