Default Ball Joint puller?

Ok, where can I find a ball joint puller? I need to drop my rear diff. Anyone know where I can source one?

Jeff

you dont need to pop a ball joint to get the diff in or out. After you disconnect/loosen all three shafts you'll need to support the diff and remove the 2 forward brackets and remove the 4 nuts in the rear. At that point move the diff towards the front of the car by a couple of inchs and then to one side of the car. That will give you enough room to disengage one of the ouput shafts from the diff. Remove that shaft then move the diff to the other side to remove the second shaft. The diff will then drop out nice and easy.

Actually a pickel fork will damage the boots. Honda has a differant type of tool and that was more what I was looking for.

Davepk

You dropped your without popping the ball joints? I was thinking about that but wanted to have the tools in hand so if I needed to i could. Shopping for a tool in the middle of the job is a pain.

It is possible to do what davepk said. I found it very hard to do alone. Two people would have made this easier.
What you need is one of these:

OK, by request, here's a couple of better photos:

ps. A pickle fork will work BUT, most likely your grease boots will be toast.

Rev, I've been using one of these to pop ball joints (done the rear lowers about 5 billion times now ) instead of the gear puller type deal.

Jerry can vouch for the effectiveness of this tool when he couldn't get the toe link off the rear spindle for a whole week and I came over and did it using the MAD RABBIT tool in two seconds while he was looking for a flash light or some sh!t (well maybe he can't vouch since he didn't actually see it happen, for all he knows, I just kicked it loose )
