Was digging through some emails and forgot I always meant to post this. The ball joint separator tool that Honda sells (07MAC-SL00200) usually goes for $150. I found this NAPA version for $26

I've used it and the Honda tool and this works just as good. I've also used a pitman arm puller but I find that harder to use (although mostly effective). I would NOT try a fork as those have been known to tear boots.

 

I have a similar one from another brand. I think I got it from mcmaster-carr or Harbor freight, or something. Anyway, it's cast aluminum and the fork was a bit small, so I had to open it up a bit with my grinder, but it works perfectly.
