When to Adjust Valve?

Default When to Adjust Valve?

I'm just curious that when do I need valve adjustment.
Should I look for any kind of sound???
those who done their valve adjustment please recommend good shop in NYC/Long Island area.

Billman250 would be the best I know in that area...but I think you have to be an s2ki member rather than just a guest for him to work on your car.

i just did mine at 75,000 miles and they were pretty far off, and my spark plugs were done too....

I just hit 70k the other week... how do I know if I'd be in for a valve adjustment?

By going to get them adjusted hahah. If someone is going to check them they might as well adjust them. Can't check them any other way.

If you've never had your valves adjusted, I would do it done now, regardless of mileage. We did a tech day a few years back, and every single car had a couple of vales out of spec, even those with low mileage. Typically it was a couple of loose exhaust valves on each car, IIRC.

Your engine will be a little quieter, and the car will idle a little smoother with properly adjusted valves.

I payed $175 for a retainer inspection and a valve adjustment last year when I got mine done.

i paid about $150 to do valves and spark plugs, ive seen it as low as $100 and as high as $200.
