I am looking for a ball joint tool to remove the rear spindle.

I was thinking about this type of tool, anyone have other suggestions?

 

I bought a similar tool off ebay, an OTC 6297 that worked perfectly. Sears also has a tool by KD for $20 that looks to be higher quality than the one in your link and is adjustable for different ball joint sizes, part # KDS3916.

 

use a hammer... hit the control arm, ball joint pops out.

 

I do have a mini sledge, I figured the tool could be handy also. To bad the Sears tool is out of stock.

 

the KD tool is perfect. sometimes a sledge works, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it works after you've done damage to other components. spend $20 on the tool.

 

I would love the KD tool it is out of stock though

 

i have the dedicated honda tool i will rent you. it cost me 180

 

This style is better since it lets you adjust the height. I have this type.

 

been working on cars for over 10 years, hammer never fails.

 

thats what i have, but the honda 18mm version with nicer forks.
