Bellhousing Plug?
Hello -
On the 2001 bell housing there is a round plug about 2" in diameter that has what looks to be a 13 mm-ish allen wrench fitting - it's just behind and below the hole where the clutch fork protrudes from the bell housing. My question is what is behind this plug? I ask because I'd like to lube the clutch fork pivots (they creak) and wonder if I can get to the area through this screw in plug. I just wanted to be sure that I didn't open a big can of worms by removing this plug only to find that it involves something inside that I wasn't expecting.
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance -

Do you know if there is any good way to lube the fork pivots without taking the whole thing out of the car?

That is a service port that is used when rebuilding the trans. It leads into the main gearbox and will give you no access at all to the fork.

Fork tips need grease where they contact the TO bearing. Not easy to get at, but you can reach in there with a coat hanger and dab grease on each tip.
Unbolt slave and remove boot of course, then disengage Fork and grease it.
