Bent valves?

the ticking is the fuel injectors ..... rev the engine a little and the ticking will stop while the engine comes back down to idle speed where the ticking will start again.

Compression test u can do your self, just go to your local pepboys, or kragan, buy a compression meter (40-50 bucks)
remove plug wires & plug
screw in the compresison meter
take out fuse for fuel injectors or just disconnect the fuel injector wires
push down gas then crank over a few time (push start botton) read meter and your done
do it for all 4 valves
i just got my s2k few weeks ago so i have no idea wut the compression should be i m guessing around 175-180 ish?

i've been wracking my brain trying to figure this out. it all happened so fast and of course i was in "oh shit mode" so i wasn't taking everything in. all i remember was being around 8200rpm while going uphill. i'm guessing the formula for calculating speed based on gearing and engine speed only applies to flat surfaces?

The shifting to 2nd instead of 4th happend to me twice!!
The car is still fine, and I'm not hearing any strange sound, and on top of all this I still raced a nitrous fed SI!
Got my ass handed to me!

i wish i could say no, but i figure i had to have been going faster than 70. doesn't 3rd gear top out around 90ish? i wish i had payed more attention to these things so at least you guys could help me out a little better. i even thought about flying up that hill again just to get an idea about how fast i might have been going, but i'm too scared to hit vtec.
