Post BEST CAI with NO CUTTING?

Is there such a thing you guys? I mean can I put one of these on (and there are tons of them on the market, so PLEASE let me know your opinions about which is best from a number of perspectives) without having to cut or trim anything that's stock? I'm looking at K&N, and the V2, but have no idea how best to proceed. And finally, is there a risk associated with driving the car in the rain with any given cold air kit installed? T H A N Ks!!!!!!

No cutting: Comptech, PRM, K&N - but these will give you only small gains but the car will drive nicer in the heat.
The ones that give more gains will require cutting, but you don't want to do this. "No pain, no gain".

Well my car went from 210whp to 225whp with just the comptech intake and v-afc with just the engagement point moved down to 5700rpms but I have an 04.

I'd say it makes power.

The Comptech unit will require cutting of the plastic thing at the end of the hood prop on an MY00.

If you did the intake AND the VAFC after the first dyno, how do you know how much increase was attributed to what? VAFC alone has been reported to give up to 10 HP all by itself. When you do more than one thing at a time and then get numbers, you can't say that the gain was applicable to one or the other. Or did you dyno stock, then intake, then VAFC. What were the numbers for each?

I'm with Dave aka The Guru...
The most you're going to see from any in-bay intake is 5hp (on a good day). The most you can expect is better throttle response and a nice growl at Vtec.

If you cut out your right side fake brake duct a PRM will get plenty of fresh air through the fenderwell and you'll never have to fear hydrolocking.

E-mailed comptech about this, they say no mods necessary on the 04 models only
