For injectors I use my foot on the floorboard.

I think I'm gonna go with Redline. The product has great reviews on Amazon. So all it takes is a near empty gas tank and a 1/2 bottle of Redline and I'm good to go?

Just go with a full bottle, you'll be fine.

For reference, have you ever seen an S2000 engine with carbon build up, engine cleaner or no?

I've seen other Hondas I've owned, with deposits mostly on the intake valves. This is my first S2000. Injectors are hard to diagnose, but we've certainly seen evidence of injector issues on S2000's. When I first got my car I had my injectors out of the car and I sent them in for servicing while I had them pulled. They found one injector that was sticking and flowing differently than the others, they were able to get it cleaned up. I've gone to a cleaning product once a year just in case.

With the newer fuels being sold by Chevron and Shell I am sure the amount of deposits is much less these days than they used to be.

No I actually bought the car just before winter storage, so over the winter I decided to pull the injectors and have them tested and cleaned as a preventative thing. The car was a 2002 with 55k miles on it when I bought it in 2009. It was running well enough, no real symptoms but I noticed that the car barely passed emmissions testing (required on purchase) with high hydrocarbons , I just pulled them out and had them checked over along with a number of other parts at the time. When I pulled the injectors I did see quite a bit of deposits in the intake runners just under the injectors, but I didn't get a look at the valves at that time.

I know I'm practicing thread necromancy but on my 2k2 S2k with 92.5k miles I was getting a slight smoking issue on extended idle and startup as well as an idle drop with the AC on coming to a stop in neutral. Spoke to a very knowledgeable local mechanic and he noted that the AP1's tend to have an issue with the injectors developing a slight leak after 80k+ miles. I ordered some Honda OEM injectors and swapped them out a few nights ago and MAN what a difference. No idling down issues, no smoke, no hesitation and I swear (at least to my backside) a noticeable difference in performance across the whole rev range. It has transformed the car (this is after a full ALL fluids changed tune up w/new plugs/filters etc). Particularly he noted that cylinders 3/4 tend to develop leaks and I did notice they had by far the most carbon build up out of the 4. I cleaned that out, slid in the new injectors and took her for a test drive within 2-3 miles she was running noticeably smoother, quieter, and "seat of the pants" faster!
