which is better mod cai with bypass or the stock box mod with spoon snorkel

 

neither do much at all. bypass loses power.

 

I have the spoon snorkel and filter and love it. Sounds great, throttle response/butt dyno say it helped a little. Defintely not the most affordable solution though. It comes down to personal preference really. I like the spoon also since it keep the stock air box (albeit gutted).

 

a snorkel or a garage defend/j's cover type duct all will work as good as a standalone if your using a Kn filter/spoon filter, etc..

The whole point is to avoid having heated air which the ecu will pull back timing and you loose power. Other than that, don't expect much power gains. you'll gain a little throttle response and prevent loss of power.

 

PRM w/ faux brake duct cut out = CAI that doesn't need a bypass and won't hydrolock.

 

im gonna go with a snorkel and comptech filter.

 

just get a comptech CAI. you get CF lid which juices up the engine bay, no hydrolock worries and Comptech claims a 4-5hp gain
