Default Bilstein PSS9 Coilovers

Hey guys well I recieved my coilovers a while ago and its time to install them.
I asked for a quote on how much it will cost from a nearby mechanic shop and they told me $200 and thats too much so I thought id give it a try myself. How difficult is it to install the coilovers? Is there a step by step guide that can show me how I can do it or if any of you have one that would be great.

Thanks

Narek

Check the FAQ section, there's about 4 articles that show how to install it. It's very easy, about 1 hour job.

It is hard enough, that 200 will sound like a deal once you are done. Really 200 is cheap if they do it right.

You don't have the tools you need to remove the top hats from the OEM shocks. So just have them do it for you. Also your car should be aligned once they are installed. That is not included in the 200, and should be extra.

It is not that it is hard, but it will take you a day to do it and you will need to have a shop fix your installation and align your car. So just say your self trouble.

But if you have to try it, there is a DIY listed in the FAQ thread posted at the top of the Under the Hood forum.

Good luck

No you didn't.

Don't lead the OP to believe you can install coilovers by yourself in 60 minutes with an adjustable wrench and some WD-40 please.

Installing coilovers, it's less than 20 bolts.. it might take more than an hour for a beginner..

shouldn't take more than 3 though.

Go get yourself a jack and a tool box with a rotating end and you'll be set

It's really simple for the fronts and for the rears, it's two top nuts on each corner, which i believe you have to remove some of the rear interior panels to get to. The driver's side is blocked by the fuel lines so you'll have to get a rotating end on it.

Go for it! Paying someone to do something so easy is a waste!

The fronts are quite easy, I'd say.
But the rear ones will take some time to install.
It's not a complicated job at all. Just time consuming.
If you like doing stuffs yourself, I recommend giving it a shot.
You'll be proud of yourself.

Don't forget to preload it and be careful of the speed sensors.
