took my S in to the shop today, and my friend diagnosed my headlight with a messed up
"transformer" he informed me that it costs 350$. Was wondering if anyone has ever done this fix before. And whether its difficult or not to do.

 

do they mean ballast? and yes ballasts are expensive. and if they called it a transformer, i'd be wary cuz uh....

As for the transformer, maybe the guy thinks your headlight can be bent and folded into a little action figure.

 

Actually #5 is an inverter...it steps up the voltage from 12V....Mine went when my car was only 1 month old...the dealer changed the bulb at the same time as precaution. All under warranty.
