Default bogging out..... :(

So i've noticed when driving my car before it hits around 5.5k it starts to bogg out whenever its raining. I don't know if its because of the rain or what it is. I'm guessing the rain has a big factor to this problem. It only happens when its raining outside and if i gradually accelerate in a lower gear it goes away and doesn't happen until the next time i drive the car(if its raining).

Is something horribly wrong with my car or is it just a safety thing my s is doing.

I have a aem V2 in my car. maybe its time i bought a water blocking insert from aem... (forget what it's really called)

it's it's raining + your car starts to bog + you have an intake that's 3 inches off the ground, I'd worry a little. I can't be for sure but it sound like this is a good possibility of your problem.

well my friend that owns a shop told me not to worry about hydrolock issues. he said if it was hydrolock the car wouldn't even start up. He said it is probably a plug somewhere that is acts up whenever it gets wet. Personally i don't think its hydrolock i've driven in worse situations where i could barely see the car in front of me and haven't had an issue, but this doesn't mean i'm not concerned about the bogging out issue.

sounds like your inches away from hydrolocking... plus if a plus acts up when wet, the water has to be getting into your engine. If enough gets in you will hydrolock, sounds like your not getting enough to hydrolock but that you are getting some water in the engine.

Im really not sure if its your intake causing this. I had a CAI on my Probe GT for 4 years up here in MN, rain, sleet, snow, you name it, puddles. I never had any problems. Unless its submerged in water, you are not taking in enough water to hydro lock. I think its something else, maybe a bad coil pack? But again, it is hard to tell without seeing your exact driving conditions.

I've experienced problems with the air filter itself absorbing the water and so not flowing air, I'd try a hydrosock? or even some sort of shield to protect the element.
